Snoring Devices

Anti-Snoring Intraoral Devices, or mandibular advancement splints, have been effective for many snorers, including those suffering from mild or moderate obstructive sleep apnea.

They are usually small plastic devices worn in the mouth during sleep to prevent the soft throat tissues from collapsing and obstructing the airway. They do this by bringing your lower jaw forward and/or by lifting your soft palate. Some devices also stop the tongue from falling back over your windpipe.

The Klearway™ Appliance

At Family Dental, we offer The Klearway™ Appliance. This appliance has been extensively tested and is in use worldwide to help its users get a peaceful night sleep. The Klearway™ Appliance works by easing your lower mandible (lower jaw) forward, opening your airway while you sleep. This appliance allows you to adjust the device (moving your lower jaw slightly forward in intervals) over time as you become more comfortable with it. The design of this sleep appliance allows you to move your jaw up and down and side to side (so you can yawn and swallow) often making it more convenient than rigid devices.

Our dentists would be pleased to discuss the option available to help you as well as your partner get a better and quieter night sleep.
